PSFK TV: PARK(ing) Day

PSFK TV: PARK(ing) Day

By Dan Gould on September 24, 2008

PARK(ing) Day is a one day celebration, where participants reclaim parking spaces to create small but engaging public spaces. Over 50 cities around the world participate in the event, which was started in 2005 by Transportation Alternatives in New York, and the REBAR art collective in San Francisco.

This year’s PARK(ing) Day took place last Friday, with participants representing a wide range of groups including: Yahoo, The Buckminster Fuller Institute, Friends of the High Line Park, Hunter College and even the Police Athletic League. PSFK was on hand to document some of the inventive spaces that were created.
