A Table Inspired By Insects
The Mantis table was designed by Industrial Design student Alvaro Uribe and takes inspiration from insect body parts. The table has three aluminum legs, mimicking the small and delicate legs of a praying mantis, and is topped with a gray tinted round glass top. Uribe used bio-inspired concepts to make the structure lightweight while still encompassing high-strength properties to support the heavy glass surface.
