+ Pool: The Future Of Water Recreation In New York City

+ Pool is a new initiative by a collective of designers and architects who are looking for support to build a floating pool in the rivers of New York City. The project is meant to improve and take advantage of the natural resources that exist throughout the city. The walls of the pool will be constructed from engineered layers of various filters that will cleanse the water that fills the pool, making the rivers that were historically used for recreation, habitable once again.

The + Pool is designed as a multi-purpose swimming facility that will be able to simultaneously host lap swimming, water sports, child  and free swim areas. Sections could also be closed off for scheduled swim meets.
