Crowdsourced Creative Problem Solving
frog design, the global innovation and industrial design firm, recently unveiled a new approach to design research that combines user-generated content and ethnographic observation. The frogMob site proposes a generic topic with the purpose of showcasing user-submitted snapshots of inventive solutions to the thematic problem. Ideas that have been explored so far include creative, purpose-specific fixes for power-cord organization and work bicycle customization. Uploaded everywhere from Shanghai to Seattle, the shared images highlight how global communication around a seemingly small, but universally problematic, detail can highlight a potential need for innovation.
