Google Street View Faces Resistance In Germany

In a blow to Google’s ambitious Streetview application, over 200,000 people in Germany may opt to erase their houses from the program. Google has rolled out its already controversial street-level imagery called Street View in over 20 countries and had given a deadline for opting out of its service, resulting in an unprecedented number of Germans availing this option. While Reuters says it may be because of the haunted memories of the erstwhile Gestapo and Stasi secret police, the German government has said that there would be no regulations for geo-location services as of now.
