Fatigue Sensor Tells You When To Step Away From The Computer

By Naresh Kumar on October 12, 2010

At CEATEC Japan 2010, Murata Manufacturing Co demonstrated a gadget with a sensor that measures the fatigue level of its users. The device uses a photoplethysmographic sensor to measure the pulse and blood oxygen saturation level along with electrodes that measure electrocardiogram. The fatigue degree is calculated using these readings. Murata hopes that their ‘fatigue sensor’ will be integrated in game consoles and cell phones in the future to help communicate to users when they should take a break.
