Ceramic Speakers Mix Traditional Japanese Craft And Modern Innovation
Revalue Nippon Project, the initiative launched by Japanese soccer star Nakata Hidetoshi to give new life to the Japanese craft tradition, tasked five curators to each select one ceramicist and one artist or designer to join forces and create an original piece of work. These astonishing ceramic speakers (that are only 1 mm thin) are the result of one of these collaborations. These speakers are not in production (yet), but prove that function does not have to sacrifice form.
