Gallery Scans Art Buyer’s Interests

Showing at the tech-art STRP Festival is the Art Valuation Service by Eyal Fied and Luther Thie. Visitors don an EEG brain scanning device and then peruse the artworks. The Acclair device monitors brain patterns and they are vizualized in real time on the gallery’s walls.

We suspect that the Acclair AVS is provocatively tongue in cheek but it nevertheless questions both the manner in which art market valuation currently operates and also the appropriateness of deploying neuroscientific methods to understand all realms of human experience.
