Instagram: Social Faux-Analog Photo Sharing

By Dory Carr-Harris on November 11, 2010

Ever since the advent of Hipstamatic, the craze for analog-looking digital photography has continued to grow. The Instagram app is the latest installment, offering LOMO-esque effects on those less than SLR quality smartphone photos, but brings with it a new added bonus: social networking.

This app lets you instantly share your photos with Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Flickr, and Tumblr. It also automatically shares your photos with the Instagram network, a kind of photo-Twitter in itself, on which you can follow your friends, add comments, and browse photos from across the globe.

The app also uses Foursquare‘s geotagging capabilities, and will add your location when you snap a photo in your favourite gastropub.
